This Thanksgiving, we gather with those we love to give thanks. We're fortunate to sit together with family and friends to share our experiences, watch football, eat good food and reflect on the many ways God has blessed us. We also remember that there are those who need a helping hand, who may be experiencing loss, grief, or loneliness. We are grateful for everyone doing their part to bring food and cheer through generous service projects that touch the hearts and minds of our neighbors in need.
I am also personally grateful to my family and friends for their tremendous support, as well as you, the citizens of Jefferson County, for entrusting me with this office. I'm thankful for my staff and all the elected officials and employees of this great county who are working together to improve our quality of life and lay the groundwork for the bright future that certainly lies ahead. We are each other's keeper and together we're stronger than we could ever be on our own. I urge us to set aside our daily concerns to reflect on the divine providence that brings us together and touches our lives, and I pray that your Thanksgiving Day is filled with an abundance of love and gratitude that extends throughout the holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
