PUBLIC NOTICE OF ELECTIONS

The Republican and Democrat preferential primary, nonpartisan (judicial) general, and DeWitt school district elections shall be held in Jefferson County, Arkansas from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 3, 2020. Voters are required to state which election they desire to vote in when checking in at a polling site. Sample ballots will be posted on a wall. Poll workers cannot answer questions. If you early vote or vote absentee ballot, you cannot vote on election day. It is a felony offense to vote more than once in an election.
CANDIDATES CAN ONLY ENTER A POLLING SITE TO VOTE OR ASSIST A VOTER RELATED TO THEM WITHIN THE SECOND DEGREE OF CONSANGUINITY.
POSTING OF POLL WORKER LISTS AND OBJECTION PROCESS
The list of early voting and election day poll workers is posted in the county clerk's office. Any voter wanting a poll worker disallowed because they are related within the second degree of consanguinity to a candidate on the ballot, must do so in writing to the county clerk within three business days of this public notice being published..
CANDIDATES AND OFFICES TO BE ELECTED
Three separate elections (i.e., Republican primary, Democrat primary and non-partisan judicial general) are held on the same day and voters must choose which election they will vote. The non-partisan judicial election will be on the Republican and Democrat ballots; and DeWitt school district millage question on all ballots as appropriate.

EARLY VOTING
Early voting shall be conducted by the County Clerk in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 101 East Barraque, Pine Bluff, AR 71601 as follows:
• Weekdays: February 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Saturdays, February 22 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Monday, March 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Early voting machines will be processed at 2:00 p.m. on March 3, in the courthouse early voting room. Results will not be "exposed" until after 7:30 p.m. at the Election Center.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Absentee ballots may be obtained from the County Clerk during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Absentee ballot canvass shall begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at the Jefferson County Election Center, 123 S. Main, Pine Bluff, AR 71601, and results announced after 7:30 p.m. The canvass is open to the public who may view the canvass from a designated area without comment or interruption.
